Skills Camp, Inc. focuses on perfecting your child’s basketball skills and knowledge throughout the summer while providing a safe environment for your child. Directors Shawon Moncrief and Tobe Carberry both received college basketball scholarships and played professionally in Europe, with a combined total of 25 years of camp experience. Your child receives a complementary t-shirt and is eligible to win prizes at the end of the summer camp session. HIGHLIGHT
on SHAWON MONCRIEF, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR |
Shawon Moncrief is a graduate of New Hampshire
College (NHC) now renamed Southern New Hampshire University.
He graduated with a degree in sports management. While
attending NHC he was a 3 year starter on the men’s
basketball team as well as team captain his senior year.
After college Shawon continued his basketball career in
Europe and was elected to the English all star team.
Every summer since his junior year in high school he has
worked and been a part of the Greater New Haven summer
basketball camp scene. In 2001 he started Skills Camp
and it has rapidly grown every year. In 2004 Skills Camp
introduced an educational aspect to the day camp program
and a travel basketball team, recognizing education and
athletics go hand and hand.
